About Mid-America
Coached by Sam Poulos, the Mid-America Speedskating Team, in
operation since 1985, practices in the
Chicago-land area, and at the Pettit Center in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During the summer months, we hold dryland training in
Northbrook every
Wednesday from 7PM-9PM and on Sundays from 10AM-12PM.
All are welcome to join us - any age, all ability
levels and even non-skaters! if you are interested, give us a call

Team
Coach and President Sam Poulos has been directly
involved in speedskating for over a half century and has
been coaching for more than 35 years. Many of Sam's athletes
have won National, North American, World, and Olympic
titles, including his daughter, Leah Poulos Mueller,
World Champion and Olympic medalist.
With his innovative
ideas, depth of experience and broad knowledge of the
sport, Sam is one of the most successful coaches in the
history of speedskating.
